The launch of the fifth version of the Youth Entrepreneurship Forum “Micro Shabab”


‎The first day of the Youth Entrepreneurship Forum “Micro Shabab” kicked off this morning at the University of Bahrain under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and Chairman of the Olympic Committee, and organized by the Future Youth Association. At the opening ceremony, Dr. Fouad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, delivered a speech in which he affirmed that young people receive full support and empowerment at this youth forum, through their involvement in the world of entrepreneurship, and learning about the successful experiences of entrepreneurs at the local, regional, and global levels. Dr. Al-Ansari also expressed his happiness with the wide participation and enthusiasm received by the forum, calling on students to make the most of the best practices and experiences and the opportunities offered by modern technologies, in order to achieve integration in the economic sectors, as well as achieve sustainable development. He added, “We look forward to seeing the students of the University of Bahrain – the entrepreneurs of the future – contributing to the development of society and working to enhance productivity and economic competitiveness in the Kingdom of Bahrain.” This was followed by a speech by Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowder, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Coordination Office for the Initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad at the University of Bahrain, Vice President of the University for Information Technology Services and Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Mr. Yousef Al-Sayegh, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Forum. The ceremony received wide participation from university presidents, higher education institutions, and individuals interested in youth empowerment, in a clear indication of the importance of the issue of youth involvement in establishing businesses, and the role of universities in graduating cadres capable of establishing businesses and offering competitive products to the market. The first day of the forum included the participation of businessman Suhail bin Ghazi Al-Gosaibi, CEO of Falak Consulting, after which consultant Mohammed Al-Mahri from the United Arab Emirates gave a presentation on “financing emerging projects, investing in small companies, and social innovation in youth entrepreneurship.” The activities of the first day also included a group discussion session entitled “Pioneer Projects in the Sports Sector,” in which entrepreneurs Othman Janahi, founder and CEO of the Arena application, Ali Zayer, co-founder and CEO of the Tamarroun application, and Abdullah Faqihi, co-founder of the RYDE Center, spoke. The session was moderated by media personality Hazem. Sheikh. The first day of the forum concluded with a presentation by Maryam Ishaq, an expert and consultant in small and medium enterprise development, on how to build successful relationships to achieve sustainable success in emerging projects. The forum will continue its work tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, opening the way for three days to explore the horizon of entrepreneurship development in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and presenting examples of Bahraini entrepreneurs who have been able to launch emerging companies that are constantly growing and expanding, thus forming a platform for dialogue and meeting between Bahraini youth that contributes to more of them becoming… leading businesses. Over the course of three consecutive days, the forum will enable participants to showcase their entrepreneurial ideas and projects, and acquire the skills and experience necessary to develop their ideas and turn them into successful projects through the interactive sessions organized by the forum, which address critical and important topics imposed by the modern world of entrepreneurship, such as entrepreneurship and innovation in the age of Digitization, development and marketing of creative ideas in light of modern technology, success in the digital economy and other topics that emerging entrepreneurs need.
